Child & Family Advocacy
The Bravehearts Child and Family Advocates provide a ‘wraparound’ service for children and families affected by child sexual abuse. The Advocates assist families to navigate and understand the service system and how to access supports to best meet their needs. The Advocates’ role is to support a child and their families around the police reporting process. This can be to provide education around the process, support during a police interview and address the individual needs of a family following an interview.
The Child and Family Advocate can support families (of children aged 0-17years) who live in the Gold Coast and Logan regions of QLD and ensure better access to a variety of services within the sector. Child and Family Advocacy and Support is provided by Bravehearts thanks to the donations from the Thyne Reid Foundation.
