education programs for high school students

At this age, students begin to explore their identifies and form their own beliefs about relationships, making this a key stage to influence decision making.

An increasing concern within the adolescent population is the issue of sexual and relationship violence, making it more important than ever for high schools to incorporate personal safety messages into students’ learning.

Project You! is Bravehearts’ professionally facilitated program for high schools, addressing personal safety and respectful relationships issues for young people.

Delivered as an interactive group workshop in one full day or two half day sessions, students engage in activities to create useful resources they can take away from the session that help to reinforce key messages.

Topics covered in Project You! include:

  • Understanding relationships
  • Understanding emotions
  • Asserting personal boundaries and respecting boundaries of others
  • Confidentiality
  • The importance of consent
  • Cyber safety including sexting and the law
  • Managing stress and seeking help

The program is aligned with the National Curriculum and is segmented into two age groups (Year levels 7 to 9 and 10 to 12) in acknowledgement of the vast developmental differences that can exist during adolescence. Please see below to explore further the topics covered in each of these two groups.
