Conor Quinn

Western Australia

“Over the last two years I followed the amazing Bravehearts runners and was inspired to get involved this year.

Like most people I always like to stand up for the underdog and help where possible. Although there will be a physical challenge running the 777, the main challenge is to raise the funds and awareness for those children affected.”

CHRIS 'GLACKS' GLACKEN

South Australia

“I am returning in 2019 to continue my work assisting Bravehearts to educate, empower and protect Aussie kids from child sexual assault.

I make this promise to do my very best to not only raise funds, but to create as much awareness as possible to address this issue.”

DANI MCLAREN

“If by running and raising funds I can prevent even one child from experiencing child sexual assault, then that is enough for me to keep pushing, keep running, and keep raising awareness about Bravehearts.”

David Nguyen

New South Wales

“I’m a 37-year-old husband, father and a child protection worker. I’m also a survivor of child sexual assault and a Bravehearts Champion for Children.

Child protection is everybody’s business and we each have a vital role to play in preventing this crime that affects 58,000 Australian children every year.”

Eddy Suyachmir

New South Wales

“It took me over a month contemplating whether I should do 777, but what it essentially came down to was that every time I watched a case of child neglect or abuse on TV I felt hopeless and angry, thinking what could I do?

Well, this is something small I can do to help protect our children. This will definitely not be easy but I am willing to give my all to complete this challenge.”

Fenix Maiorana

Victoria

“Back for my second go at the Bravehearts 777. As a survivor of sexual abuse I know how it can affect your whole life from the moment it happens. I was 5 years old when I was first sexually abused and the abuse continued on and off until I was 25.

The people I met on my 2018 777 journey (my 777 fam) have given me support and inspiration to continue, and I cannot wait to do it again in 2019.”

“I’m a mum of six beautiful children, and I decided to sign up to run 7 marathons in 7 states in 7 days to support this amazing charity (Bravehearts). It’s time to step up to change the path for future generations.”

Kiff Odgers

“My inspiration has come from my two older siblings who have participated in Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon in 2015 and 2017. I wish to add another $15000 to their combined total of $30000.

I am healthy and have two strong and able legs, so it is time for me to use my abilities for good. I know that I can’t change the world but I can do my best to make a change.”

“Our family has spent our life dedicated to the protection of children. We’re now choosing to run to protect kids. With a combined fundraising goal of $20,000 and the physical aspect of running 7 marathons in 7 states on 7 days, this will be the ultimate challenge for us both.”

“I’ll be spending this coming year training to prepare myself for the event. Likely to be the toughest challenge I’ve set myself so far, the rewards are worth it.”

“I am Ollie – a man who loves his wife, loves a challenge and loves to run. So, this year I thought ‘why not challenge myself and put all this running to good use?’”

Paul Wright

Tasmania

“As an endurance runner, I have run in distances from a 5km local park run to the iconic Coast to Kosciusko 240-kilometre road race from sea level to mountain top and return to Charlottes Pass Finish.

This was a different type of challenge for me. The running aspect really appealed to me of course, and I was able to us my passion for running, to really make a difference in the lives of Australian Children.”

RJ Singh

“As a new father, it really hit me hard to learn just how many children in this country suffer at the hands of abuse. I want to help Bravehearts make an impact on the horrendous statistics that we are seeing today.”

Stephanie Hopkinson

New South Wales

“I am 29 years old and live in rural NSW. Together with my partner Dan we have two very active Border Collie dogs, Howie and Ollie.

I am a stage where I realized my running could be used for something greater than myself to help others. This year I have chosen the 777 in support of Bravehearts as no child deserves to live in fear.”

Steven Rice

Western Australia

“My passion is running and through this, I have met many wonderful people who have helped me reach my goals and work towards new ones.

I work in the disability sector which is such a rewarding job. It has given me a new perspective on life. To help and assist people who struggle to have a voice every day, I know that supporting Bravehearts is common to my own beliefs as they assist children who may struggle with their voices as well.

I am also a Grandfather, which has given me a lot of joy and through this event, will help me combine my love of running and children as well.

Please help me achieve my goal knowing your support will help raise awareness and funds for the 1 in 5 Australian children who will be sexually harmed in some way before the age of 18.”
