Child sexual abuse counselling

Bravehearts provides child sexual abuse counselling services to:

  • Children and young people who have been affected by child sexual abuse;
  • Non-offending family members of children or young people who have been affected by child sexual abuse, including parents, partners, siblings and others;
  • Children under 12 engaging in problem sexual behaviour;
  • Young people who have engaged in, or are at risk of engaging in, problem sexual behaviour (Turning Corners Program)

Bravehearts does not investigate child sexual abuse. The focus of our therapeutic work is to support children and families and help them manage the psychological symptoms and trauma related to child sexual abuse.

About our counselling services

Bravehearts’ child sexual abuse counselling is provided by psychologists, social workers and counsellors who specialise in assisting children, young people and families to work through the trauma they have experienced, using evidence-based interventions and best practice.

Counselling Fees

Bravehearts offers free counselling services to eligible children, young people and non-offending family members. For a full list of eligible catchment areas, please scroll below.

For those who are not eligible for free counselling, Bravehearts can offer a fee for service or assist you in identifying other counselling options in your area.

Referrals for child sexual abuse counselling

Bravehearts welcomes agency referrals, as well as referrals from parents, carers, Child Safety Services, Queensland Police, Schools, General Practitioners, and other agencies.
